DDS was my first choice when asked to contract a designer that would offer a professionally unique design. I am considering DDS again for our next venture.

Thanks guys!

I think a lot of times we are scared to see outside of the box. We ask for neutral or earth tone colors for our designs because we are afraid. It’s quite alright if you prefer earth tones over bright, bold colors.. but if you have no preference you should give some color a try. Most of the websites that are memorable to us are websites designed with lots of color. These websites stand out from the rest. I have recently learned to appreciate color in my designs after purchasing the Color Design Workbook: A Real-World Guide To Using Color In Graphic Design.

I couldn’t even tell you how many times I’ve been asked.. “What is the difference between a blog and a website?”

The answer can be quite simple. I will break it down in bulleted points.

A Website:

  • Is Informational.
  • Speaks to customers.
  • Takes a little more time to update.
  • Is great for businesses who want to share their product, pricing, and standard informational pages.
  • Should have no more than 10 pages, as it might get confusing.

A Blog:

  • is great for personal information.
  • is great if you have a lot of information to share with people, not only customers.
  • can be used as a website when the correct settings are in place.
  • is easy to update as it goes through a platform.
  • is easy to organize by archives.
  • allows others to comment and leave feedback on certain posts (or none, if you choose).
  • is the best if you have are always changing content.

It is very easy to use a blog as a website, and easy to maintain.. but if you just want to share information, a website would also work as well. I think most people are using the blogging platform as a website because of how easy it is for them to maintain.

All Premade Headers in the shop are $10 until the 23rd of May. Hurry up and get yours!

I have been playing around with my Adobe Creative Suite programs lately.. especially when I had a little free time on Mother’s Day… and came up with the header you see above. I also created a new logo for the site:

Oh how I love stitched fonts and scallops.

We are now using the blog feature and we are very excited about the upcoming ideas we will be sharing with you.
